Things I've Learned From Infomercials

really adding to the scheduled programming, but still… it’s the racing off-season and the shows on TV aren’t the greatest. I still end up watching a lot of live TV instead of “time-shifted” TV. I’ve seen WAY more infomercial ads than I care to count and I’ve learned the following:

  • The people who demonstrate traditional methods or products are f**king idiots.
  • The script writers make those people look stupid
  • These products all look too good to be true
  • Ninety-nine percent of all these products look like cheesy, crappy pieces of junk.
Fortunately, I’ve got a habit of searching Google for product reviews. Most of the products are complete junk. The rest are shipping scam ripoffs. Some of these products look very nice, but I’d much rather find them in the As-Seen-On-TV stores that I’ve seen in some of the malls around here. As I’ve been typing this, I’ve seen three. Now I’m being subjected to some drivel for Scrape-It, which is showing people using the tool to remove callouses. I’ve completely lost my appetite now. Ugh. I’ll file this one under Rants since I just had to comment on all this stupidity. That’s all for me for right now. Thanks for visiting and Keep Coming Back!!!]]>

  1. Ah . . . but did you watch the Super Bowl?
This year had to be one of the best . . . not matter which team you were rootin’ for.
I was partial toward the giants, but wouldn’t have been upset if the Pats had keep their perfect season.
I think this was what a Super Bowl should have been . . . right up to the last few seconds!
As for =live= TV . . . who watches that!?
    Love ya’
    Ol’ Dad

  2. I had a feeling about two weeks ago that the Giants would win, but I was hoping for the Pats to keep up their perfect season. Unfortunately for my Super Bowl watching, I was in bed at about 3:00pm and back up about 9:00pm. I wasn’t feeling very good yesterday at all. :-/ Fortunately, I got enough sleep and am feeling better today. Oh, and I did record the game. I’ll go back and watch it for the ads sometime this week.

  3. I got back from Tahoe in time to watch the exciting second half of the game. Why did you unhook your Tivo?
Oh, and you have been google reader’ed.
