NaNo!

NaNoWriMo.org. Yes, I’ve entered the National Novel Writing Month contest. The goal is to write 50,000 words in 30 days. Or basically, write a short novel in a month. Do I think I’ll win? Maybe. Will I try? Yes. I’ve already written about 40k words worth of fanfiction. I *know* I can write. Just now I’m writing with a goal and purpose in mind. And I just counted my words for the first hour of writing: 903, according to the A1Portal Free Tools: Free Online Word Character/Word Counter. I’m figuring two or three hours of writing a day and I should be able to nip this thing in the bud. Am I ready for such an undertaking? Do I have this all outlined and thought out? Not hardly. I’ve got a general idea of how I want to start it, and certain events I want happening in the first few chapters, but no clue as to where it’s going to go. Will it be a best seller? Not hardly. Quite frankly, it’s probably going to be crap. In fact, the WriMos expect it to be crap. What they’re focusing on is quantity, not quality. So that’s what I’m gunning for. We shall see how it goes. Anyway, just wanted to post that before I headed off to work. Thanks for visiting and Keep Coming Back!!!]]>
