Servin'!

stoked! I’ve been wanting to do this for quite some time, but have never really taken the time to go about it. That and my desk has been cluttered so badly for the last many months that I’ve not been able to relocate the printer over to the side closest to my server. It’s all done and dandy now, so I’m happy. It was a bit daunting a task to do at first – I had to first make sure that I could set up CUPS so that I could print from other machines and not just the local machine. Once I got that done, I found out that printing from a windows 2k/xp box was easily done. Then I installed cups to my server, compiled the parallel printer drivers into the kernel and rebooted. It all worked and I became a smiling boy. YAY! In other news, I’m still unemployed. Not much news in that, actually. But, I start my workshops with Project HIRED on Monday, and I’m looking forward to that. I got business cards made for networking events (think resume-on-a-card). This workshop should help me gain confidence and give me the direction I need to find gainful employment. I hope it happens soon, ’cause I’m not sure how much longer my landlord will allow me stay on his property rent-free… That and I’ve run out of money, so I’ll have no way to feed myself after this month either. <sigh> All-in-all though, I think things are looking up. I’m pretty sure that everything’s going to work out just fine. 😀 With that, I’m gonna hop off for now. Thanks for visiting and Keep Coming Back!!!]]>
