Learning!

Sun hardware. A friend of mine gave me several Sun machines a few weeks ago and I’m finally going about getting them set up. Starting with an installation of the Solaris Operating System. I haven’t felt like such a n00b since I started with my first Linux install back in November of 1998! The way things are done and laid out is so completely alien to me, a lifetime x86 user. The one thing that I do have going for me is my familiarity with unix in general. I’ve also been pointed in the direction of folks who have a LOT of Solaris experience and am consulting with them. Hopefully, before too soon, I’ll be able to find my own way. Then I can definitely add Solaris experience to my resume. 🙂 Anyhow, that’s it from me for now. Thanks for visiting and Keep Coming Back!!!]]>

  1. Heh, yeah, I’ve been going through the same deal with Sun hardware at work. I really want a free time for me to play with the extra Ultra1 at work.
Remember to let me know should you decide to part with one of your Ultras, or even the other ones. 🙂
Hey, your dad put the pictures up. You have a lot of hair!

  2. Yeah, I saw that. He’s been working on his gallery a bit over the last several days. As for the hair…. Yeah, I let it grow out a bit. I also dyed it red. Unfortunately, most of the dye has washed out by now. :-/ But I have more. I liked the color. I think next time I’ll leave it in for longer or something… maybe.
