RACES!

Infineon Raceway (AKA, the track formerly known as Sears Point Raceway) for the AMA Races. It was a bit of a soggy ride up there, but not too wet. Once at the track, the sun showed her full strength (and so did the wind). I watched the last 15 seconds of the first superbike race, the 250 GP race, the 600 Supersport race, and the 2nd superbike race. I spent some time (and money) in the vendor pavilion during the 750 Superstock race and left during the Formula Extreme race. Spent Money? Yessir. I finally bought myself a motorcycle jacket. It’s a nice one, even if the arms are a wee bit long. I’m glad I bought it though. My ol’ leather jacket has taken a severe beating over the last 9 or 10 years I’ve had it and I needed something more suited to the task for riding. It’s very comfy and they threw in a pair of decent cheap-ass gloves for half off ($20). The jacket itself was $150 off at $200. But the day was not without a down moment. While I was in a porta-potty before heading out, the tank bag (which was slung over my shoulder with the carry strap) knocked my cell phone out of the holster. The phone decided it was time to commit suicide and took a dive in the drink. I almost left it there, but decided that would be stupid. I fished it out. Fortunately there was no poo on the phone – just toilet paper. And yes, I braced myself for grabbing a handful of poo. I’m glad that didn’t happen. But the long and short of the story is that the phone no workiee no more. I’m paying the cell store near work a visit today. My theory is that my cell phone decided to commit harikari to "offset" the cost of the jacket. Fortunately, I’ll be able to have them add the cost to my next cell bill. <sigh> I did get to enjoy my ride home, however. And in the process I stopped in San Francisco and hung out for a bit with Don. He took his bike for a quick spin around the city and was happy. My drive home was nice and warm-ish. I did finally pull over and put on a sweatshirt, but other than that, things were good. Anyhow, I should get on to work. Thanks for visiting and Keep Coming Back!!!]]>
