UnLazy, At Last?

Kinesis keyboard apart to give it a thorough cleaning. I’d used the air compressor at work to blow all the hair out from between the keys, or so I thought. I started with the key removal. I was unsure how to do this with a $230 keyboard, but it’s actually quite simple. Instead of using a screwdriver to pop the keys off. they come off with a nice firm tug. Once I got the first key off, I was able to find something that worked very well as a key puller and got the rest off. Then I set about with the rubbing alcohol and got the body as clean as new again. After that I took the backing off and found out where all the hair blew to – it went into the bottom of the keyboard. That was quickly enough disposed of. (And don’t ask me where it all came from – I shave my palms before I use the keyboard.) Did a bit of dusting, used rubbing alcohol on the cord, then on the keys. I put the two halves together, put the keys back on, and had a keyboard that I was proud to call mine. How many people out there do you know take the time to be this nice to their input devices? Yes, I was told at work that I was somebody who was "extremely picky about his input devices.&quot. Yeah, and don’t you forget it either. Between the keyboard and mouse. I have $300 in hardware. Ugh. I need to get a cheaper hobby. As for this weekend, well I watched the F1 Australian GP yesterday. For the first time in over a season, Michael Schumacher failed to finish on the podium (that’s within the top 3 for those of you who didn’t know). It was a rather fun race to watch. Today I meant to watch the AMA 250GP, Supersport and Superbike races, but I slept through the first two races. I woke up in time to catch the BMW Motorrad BoxerCup race from Daytona and to find out that the prestigious Daytona 200 was postponed due to rain. Damnit, I *really* need to get me a TiVo. I really wanted to watch that race, too. :-/ Anyhow… I’ve gotta go check and see if the sheets are finished so I can go to bed now. Thanks for visiting and Keep Coming Back!!!]]>

  1. Go to the laundry isle in the store, they sell this water softener stuff that they market as a “laundry booster”. It softens up the water. Works wonderfully, you can use it in the dishwasher too. Also you can use that Jet Dry rinse aid stuff, that works good too, I think it basically does the same thing just marketed and packages differently.
It should say “water softener” on the box. Arm and hammer makes one as well as Calgon, and Borax I think.
