th, 2002 — Independance Day in the United States. On this day back in 1776, the Declaration of Independance was signed. This was probably one of the most important documents ever written in the history of the United States. Okay, without this document the US would have continued to be a colony of the Commonwealth until much more recently. Anyhow, after the forefathers signed this document, they went out to the beach, slipped into their shorts & flip-flops, and got drunk and played beach volleyball. It’s a little-known fact that the fireworks we celebrate are a much less violent representation of the events that occourred when everybody was smashed out of their minds. Very few lived to tell the tale and it was forgotten in the history books…. Okay, I lied. HEY, I thought it was funny anyway. So the whole point is to remeber the groundwork that our forefathers laid out for us. Because of them, we have so much more freedom today. It is worth protecting.
